Matt Damon, 56, and Daughter Isabella Turn Heads at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards — Photos
Matt Damon's daughter Isabella made a striking appearance beside her famous father at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards. The 20-year-old's latest photos soon had viewers asking questions about the young woman on his arm.

Matt Damon stepped onto one of fashion's biggest red carpets with his daughter Isabella on November 2, but their appearance soon drew attention beyond their designer outfits.
The outing came during a new chapter for Isabella, who recently entered the modeling industry. As photos of the pair circulated, however, some viewers did not immediately realize who was standing beside the 56-year-old actor.
The moment also offered a fresh look at Isabella two years after she left home for college. This time, she arrived at the fashion event with a modeling contract of her own — and her father had plenty to say about the woman she has become.

Isabella Makes a Statement in White
Matt and Isabella attended the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where the actor served as a presenter.
Isabella wore a floor-length white crochet gown by Luar from the label's Spring 2027 collection. The semi-sheer design featured intricate diamond-shaped patterns and dramatic fringe along the sleeves and hem.
The 20-year-old carried a black clutch and added statement earrings. She wore her hair in an updo, leaving the gown's detailed neckline and her jewelry on display.

Matt chose Ralph Lauren Purple Label for the occasion. He wore a black double-breasted wool-cashmere tuxedo with a cashmere turtleneck instead of a traditional dress shirt and tie, completing the look with calfskin shoes.
The actor had another connection to the designer that evening: He presented Ralph Lauren with the American Menswear Designer of the Year award. But Isabella was not simply attending a fashion event as her father's guest. She is now taking her own first steps in the industry.

Isabella Has Entered the Modeling World
Isabella recently signed with IMG Models, joining the agency in August 2026. Her listing in IMG's New York directory identifies her as a model and gives her height as 5 feet 8 inches.
Her own Instagram account also offers more photographs of the 20-year-old as her public profile begins to grow. It is a significant change from the family milestone Matt was discussing just two years ago.

In 2024, Isabella had finished high school and was preparing to attend New York University. Her departure from home represented a major adjustment for Matt, his wife, Luciana, and Isabella's sisters.
"We have a 26-year-old, so we've been through this once before but it's still a major adjustment for us and for her sisters," Matt told E! News in September 2024. "It's a different household with one less person there. So, it's a big adjustment."

He had spoken about the approaching milestone that July as well. "It's a lot," Matt said. "It's a surreal kind of time and the way it operates in your life, the older you get, because it just feels like I was holding her yesterday."
Two years later, Isabella was back beside her father on a major New York red carpet — this time as a newly signed model. Their conversation at the CFDA Awards also showed that growing up has not changed one familiar part of their relationship.

Matt Shares What He Thinks of His Daughter Now
While walking the red carpet, Matt and Isabella spoke to People about the advice they give one another. "We both have trouble answering questions seriously," Matt joked.
He said they therefore advise each other to try to answer questions more seriously. Isabella quickly pointed out that the advice has not always flowed from father to daughter.
"I feel like I've been teaching you, giving you advice for a long time," she told him. "For a long time. Yeah, for a long time," Matt agreed.

"And this is part of the natural progression," Isabella said. "This is where it was bound to wind up," her father joked. Matt then offered a more serious assessment of his daughter.
"No, she's a wonderful, wonderful young woman and I don't give her advice in the sense that I worry about her," he said. "But I'm really excited to see what she does with her life."
The exchange continued a father-daughter dynamic Matt has discussed publicly for years. Isabella, in particular, has never seemed short of feedback when it comes to her father's career.
She Has Been One of Her Father's Toughest Critics
Long before Isabella entered modeling, Matt was telling stories about her refusal to be impressed by his Hollywood résumé.
During a 2021 appearance on "CBS Sunday Morning," he revealed that his then-15-year-old daughter refused to watch "Good Will Hunting," the 1997 movie that earned him and Ben Affleck Academy Awards for their screenplay.
"She doesn't want to see any movies that I'm in that she thinks might be good," Matt explained. The actor then recalled Isabella's assessment of his poorly received 2017 movie "The Great Wall."
"My daughter said, 'Yeah, remember that movie you did, The Wall?' I said, 'It was called The Great Wall.' She goes, 'Dad there's nothing great about that movie.'"
Matt laughed while telling the story and summed up Isabella's effect on him simply: "She keeps my feet firmly on the ground." He shared another version of the story while discussing how his daughter responded to his movies.
Her strategy, according to Matt, was straightforward: Bad reviews made a movie more appealing to her. "If the reviews come out and they're terrible, then she'll watch it," he joked in 2021. "If they come out and they're good, she's going to pass. She's looking for ammunition all the time."
He also described Isabella as "one of the funniest people I've ever met" and called her "really cool." That willingness to critique their famous father does not belong to Isabella alone.
The Damon Daughters Have No Problem Giving Their Dad Notes
Matt appeared with Luciana and daughters Isabella, Gia, and Stella at the New York premiere of Netflix's "The Rip" on January 13, 2026. Alexia Barroso, Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship, was later seen at the after-party.
While Matt posed for photographers, his daughters began offering their own observations about his stance. According to Parade's account of the red carpet moment, one daughter asked, "Why are you standing like this?" while imitating his pose.

The family's fashion choices generated another conversation online. Matt wore a dark blue tailored suit over a black crew-neck T-shirt, while Luciana appeared in a red strapless gown with cascading ruffles and thigh-high slits. She paired it with sheer black stockings and pointed black heels.
Gia wore a dark blue satin slip dress with thin straps and delicate gold jewelry. Stella chose a strapless black dress with small white polka dots and long black gloves.

Isabella stood beside her mother in a sleeveless color-block dress featuring a textured silver knit upper section and a black lower half. Another strapped section at the bottom resembled the top of the dress, leading some viewers to question its unusual construction.
Comments beneath one Instagram post zeroed in on Isabella's outfit. "What is that one dress? Is it upside down? It's meant to be upside down." Another person wrote, "The black and white dress is confusing."

A third commenter said, "Beautiful family but I have to say I couldn’t stop laughing at the dress. She must know how beautiful she is and how ugly that dress is."
Others had a different reaction. "Obsessed with the fit on the left!!" one person wrote. A separate Instagram post drew comments about the entire family. "Wow! Gorgeous bunch… which one is his wife? They all look so young and beautiful!" one viewer wrote.

Another said, "Holy smokes, they're all gorgeous like their Mama." Others criticized the styling, with one writing, "Gorgeous family, but the need to hire a new stylist. They put on whatever they found laying around the house."
"That one dress looks like a white tank top hanging," another person commented. One viewer asked about the missing family member: "Where is his 4th daughter ? He has 4."

The discussion continued on Facebook, where another viewer wrote, "What's with the dress on the left, looks like if you're drunk, doesn't matter how you put it on it's gonna look the same."
"What is hanging from the first girl's dress?" another asked. Yet one reaction focused on Matt's company rather than the outfits: "He's got some pretty ladies around him."

Less than a year later, Isabella's appearance at the CFDA Awards generated another wave of comments. This time, however, the biggest confusion was not about what she was wearing.
Some Viewers Mistook Isabella for Matt's Wife
As footage of Matt and Isabella circulated after the CFDA Fashion Awards, some viewers admitted they did not immediately recognize the relationship between the pair.

One person reacting to an Instagram reel wrote, "Omg is she his daughter?? Unbelievable! She looks just like her mom. They look like a couple." Another admitted, "She's beautiful. At first I thought it was his wife."
Similar questions appeared among the Facebook reactions. "Is that his wife?" one person asked. Other viewers debated whether Isabella resembled Matt or Luciana.

"Has Daddy’s smile! Might look like mommy," one commenter wrote. Another said, "No daddy in her facial beauty😊.. But the smile is dad's."
"She looks like her mother. So pretty!" another person added. Several comments focused instead on Isabella's appearance and her white Luar gown. "She's beautiful !! Her dress is classy, and she's not overly made up. It's wonderful to see beauty and modesty," one viewer wrote.
Another commented, "And she's dressed like a respectful young lady. Not like others showing off her body. Respect to all. But it's refreshing ❤️." The reactions came after years in which Matt and Luciana largely kept their children outside the constant celebrity spotlight.

Matt and Luciana Built Their Family Away From the Spotlight
Matt and Luciana met in Miami in 2003 while he was filming "Stuck on You." She was working as a bartender in South Beach. Luciana later recounted their first meeting in a 2018 Vogue interview.
She said Matt came behind her bar after people at the nightclub began recognizing him and asking for photographs and autographs. Luciana did not simply let the movie star stand there. She put him to work.

Matt had trained as a bartender for an earlier movie, so he began making drinks. Luciana said his presence behind the bar brought in plenty of tips because customers wanted to see him. By the end of the night, Matt invited her to go out with his friends.
Luciana declined because she had a 4-year-old daughter, Alexia, waiting at home. She said her decision to prioritize her child was one of the things Matt appreciated about her. The couple married in December 2005 in a surprise ceremony at Manhattan's City Hall.

Their first child together, Isabella, was born in Miami on June 11, 2006. "The baby is here. Isabella arrived yesterday," Matt's brother Kyle told People following her birth. Matt and Luciana later welcomed Gia in August 2008 and Stella on October 20, 2010. Matt also helped raise Alexia.
He has the names Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella tattooed in delicate script on his upper arm. Matt has spoken about raising his daughters and how becoming a father changed him. "I'm getting old, man. I think I get choked up easier now," he said in 2021.

"Ever since I had kids, it's like my job has become a lot easier because I don't have to try, I don't have to reach for any emotions, whether it's joy, or whether it's pain, because it's all nearby because the stakes are so much higher when you have kids."
He also joked that his daughters had taught him something else. "I'm learning so much, not the least of which is how much smarter girls are," he said.

Public Appearances With His Children Were Once Rare
Despite Matt's decades in Hollywood, the Damon children did not grow up making constant appearances beside their famous father. In 2015, USA Today reported on the family's private life, noting how rarely Matt's children were photographed despite the family's life in Los Angeles at the time.
The actor avoided many celebrity hot spots and maintained a relatively low profile. That made the family's appearance at the July 31, 2024, New York premiere of "The Instigators" particularly notable.

Matt was joined by Luciana, Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella at Jazz at Lincoln Center. "We had a lot of family here tonight," he said at the time. "They normally don't show up for these things, but they all showed up tonight."
He has also explained how raising children affects the decisions he makes. "You advocate for your kids a lot," Matt said. "A lot of the choices you make is about thinking about long-term ramifications for your kids. So yeah, I think parenting is a series of those types of decisions."

His comments echoed what Luciana had said years earlier about the values they hoped to teach their daughters. "The thing for us has always been that just we try really hard to constantly talk about self-esteem and compassion, and hope that will carry on," she said in 2018.
She added that she wanted the girls to believe they could pursue what they wanted while remaining mindful of other people. Isabella's latest appearance marks another stage in that family story.

The teenager Matt once described as his sharpest critic is now 20, attending major fashion events and represented by IMG Models. And when she appeared beside her father at the CFDA Awards, some viewers needed a second look before realizing the woman accompanying Matt Damon was his daughter.
